South Frontenac Fire & Rescue will be hiring up to 30 new paid on-call firefighters in 2025, and as part of the recruitment process the Director of Emergency Services and Fire Chief, Del Blakney, and his platoon chiefs will host a series of information sessions at fire halls across the Township.
“Paid on-call Firefighters serve the community, when available, by responding to a wide variety of situations, ranging from emergencies that immediately threaten life or property to routine citizen requests for information or assistance,” says Blakney. “We’re looking for South Frontenac residents who are interested in serving their community in a unique and exciting way to join our team.”
Residents who are interested in applying to the position are welcome to attend the sessions to ask questions and to learn more about the training process.
