Paige Banks, Sydenham’s newly-arrived postmistress, has assured us that the top-of-list change she intends to make at Sydenham’s Post Office is to replace or repair the clock above the Post Office entry. This clock has a decorative hour hand, clear, readable numbers, seriously peeling paint, and has been reading 6:36 for as long as most of us can remember. Does anyone know when this particular post office was built? Its style would suggest some time in the 1920’s.
