Over the August long weekend Verona hosted Art in the Sawmill after a brief hiatus last year due to covid. Showcasing a collection of local artisans the 2 day event adhered to provincial protocols and restrictions but that didn’t stop people from showing up! Both days the street was lined with cars and a pop up café from Winding Rd Coffee Co. elevated the atmosphere. There was everything from hand made quilts and beeswax candles to oil paintings, charcuterie boards and copper jewellery. Burned Colours Studio was there with unique air plant holders and there was a beautiful collection of hand-thrown stoneware pottery from Ann Maclellen. Cottage Creations had a hand made basket for every occasion including a small one for hanging your garlic in the kitchen. It is nice to see events coming back and people respecting the rules of the venue, we are lucky to have such a great event in our community!
