Ompah
by Linda Rush & Marily Seitz

We spread the word about Leta's surprise birthday party for several weeks and told folks to keep it a secret.  Well done everyone.  When she walked into the hall expecting a bake sale, she was amazed when the hall erupted with 'Surprise" and 'Happy Birthday'!  Mayor Lichty awarded her with a framed certificate acknowledging her years of service to the community.  She said, "Thank you, and that a whole lot of people had been lying to her lately!"  Thanks to Marilyn who planned the party, to those in the community who provided food, and to all those who lied to Leta.

The Ompah Community Centre Annual General Meeting will be held this Saturday, July 15 from 10am – 11am.

The Annual House and Garden Tour will be held on Wednesday, July 26.  Meet at the hall at 1pm, then carpool to two local homes where we will see two different types of gardens and homes.  Everyone welcome.

The "Junk in the Trunk" Giant Garage Sale will take place in the hall parking lot on Aug. 12 from 10 to 2.  Bring your junk (or treasures) in the trunk.  Contact Laurie (204-996-1138 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for more information and to reserve your spot.
