Passed away peacefully at the Lennox & Addington General Hospital in Napanee on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of 46 years to Rita (nee Hermer). Dear father of Darren Shorts of Northbrook. Pre-deceased by his 2 boys Derrick & Darrell. Cherished grandpa of Anthony, Jordan, Darrian and Dominque. Sadly missed by his sister Norma Collins (the late Max) of Belleville. Pre-deceased by his sisters Delia Garey, Velma Cole, Verla Shorts and his brother Victor Shorts. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with Garrett's wishes, cremation will take place with no visitation or funeral service. A burial of the urn will take place in the spring at the Henderson Cemetery.
