We are so fortunate that Councillor John Inglis had the insight to research and push for the installation of an Electric Vehicle Charging station in this area. His perseverance on this quest landed a huge win for North Frontenac residents and for anyone travelling through our area. Any cottage owners or tourists coming into the area will be thrilled to have this new charging option.
The FLO station, located at the North Frontenac Township Office, Plevna, boasts two 100 kilowatt chargers!
I have driven an electric car for about 18 months. Eastern Ontario, and most of the areas I frequent, do not offer many charge stations. The few charging options usually have much lower wattage, meaning much longer charger time. The new stations in Plevna are not only powerful but also are more user-friendly than most.
You do not require an app loaded on your cell phone or a company specific pre-ordered charge card in order to charge. You can simply use a credit card.
Congratulations to John and to Brooke Ross, Manager of Community Development at North Frontenac Office for the applications and work involved in securing the grant making this installation feasible.
