Perhaps your readers would like to see how serious the milfoil problem is becoming in Eagle Lake. My son and I have spend over $5000 on lake mats to reduces the problem in our swimming area. However all around this area is a massive growth of milfoil which will potentially clog the waterway exiting the lake and who knows what happens after that...in fact boat traffic in this area chops up the plants will their props creating an even denser growth..
I have been told the folk in the environment government departments are looking into the issue but I have not hear of any serious results. The local lake association has suggested hand pulling of the weeds but with such a huge growth and an increasing supply such actions are futile.
I suggest you send a photograph over to my cottage and I will be pleased to show your folk an awful mess of milfoil in a local lake (Eagle lake ) looks like...may catch some attention
