I am requesting that Council reconsider the noise exemption by-law.
Summers are meant for outdoor time in the peace and harmony of nature. Good for mental and physical health. But summer has also proven to be stressful and upsetting, for some.
Enter the ‘Exemption’ to the noise By-Law clause. In perspective, we live across the lake from 4440 Milburn Road. Many weekends during the summer a campground pops-up in the field directly across Dog Lake. Along with that comes elevated noise and debauchery. Last summer the amplified noise was extreme, and we contacted By-Law Enforcement. The remaining of the summer was pleasant. The campground did evolve on the weekend, but there was no amplified noise.
This past weekend the amplified noise was back. I contacted By-Law who informed me that they have an Exemption. Pardon?
Since when is amplified noise exempted? What purpose does it serve to elevate your music to a point where it is disturbing others kilometres away?
