I would like to take time to congratulate the 8 councillors of Central Frontenac, who used their common sense and voted to repair the municipal light on the corner of Hwy 38 and White Lake road.
The staff of Central Frontenac Township were trying to download a municipal street light to the church to pay for the light repair. I called Hydro asking for information about the light and they told me quickly that it did not belong to the church but they would give no information on ownership because it was not the church's light. The phone number and contact name at Hydro was provided to the township on May 1st, 2024. This was well in advance of the meeting held on May 14th, 2024, but instead of calling them to see who pays for and owns the light they opted to conduct a survey that was completed and cost the taxpayers $800. This money could have been better spent fixing the light which was estimated at $700-$800.
We appreciate that this will be fixed in a timely manner and look forward to having this intersection lit up again soon.
