On Saturday April 20th the Land O’ Lakes Garden Club and the Lions Club of Land O’ Lakes partnered for our first Pitch in For Mother Earth, PI4ME initiative. We worked with Addington Highlands and North Frontenac Townships and had agreements in place which allowed community members to go out and pick up litter without any additional waste site fees being levied. It was a huge success and we put a lot of litter in its place that day.
We thank all who participated and we plan on making this an annual event. We’d like to say to those who pitch their empties on our roadsides & ditches, please don’t, put them in any on of the boxes that are set up by the Lions so that they can use the money from these to fund the many causes they support in our communities.
