Central Frontenac, along with the Frontenac Municipal Services Corporation, are planning to take water from Sharbot Lake to provide water to the proposed senior citizens home to be located on the old Sharbot Lake public school site.
Their plan is to pump the treated sewage generated by the complex back into Sharbot Lake.
Pharmaceuticals, hormones, chemo treatments, etc. cannot be filtered out of any water treatment system. Please educate yourself by reading “Pharmaceuticals in Drinking Water: A Guide to Understanding What’s in Your Glass”, and “Aquatic Harm”.
I do not want our pristine lakes in the Land O’ Lakes area treated as ‘catchment basins’ for treated sewage. Just because treated sewage is pumped into Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River does not mean that Frontenac County should be encouraging/allowing this to happen to our lakes.
“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” should be a guiding principle for our municipal councils.
Please educate yourself and let your conscience guide you when voting for candidates supporting this project and the FMSC in the upcoming election on the 24th.
It this is allowed to happen in Sharbot Lake, it will set a precedent in Frontenac County.
