Over the course of the summer South Frontenac Township has gone to great effort and expense to upgrade the multi-sport courts at Centennial Park and Gerald Ball Memorial Park, and they are beautiful!
The surfaces are pristine, and with good care, should last many years. Over the weeks since Centennial courts were completed and reopened, I've observed adults bringing their children in to use the surface as a skateboard pad and a hockey "rink", and dog owners with their dogs, using the enclosure for a dog park. When asked to leave, the response was that they've "always brought the dog here". Although the courts may be inviting, a proper dog park is only steps away.
As a parent, grandparent and fellow dog owner, I respectfully ask that those who are using the courts for something other than their intended purpose, please stop. Access to the facility is a privilege to be enjoyed by pickleball and tennis players, hopefully for many years to come.
Signed, The Executive of the Frontenac Pickleball Club
