Great Outdoor Adventure set for June 4

The Great Outdoor Adventure is back.

The Northern Rural Youth Partnership and Northern Frontenac Community Services are presenting a free event for the entire family at Sharbot Lake High School on Saturday, June 4. The Great Outdoor Adventure will include a variety of fun activities, including horse and buggy rides, mini-golf, a soccer shot competition, a petting zoo, and a minute-to-win-it game. Chef Tim Cota will be on hand to demonstrate outdoor cooking, and there will be face painting and other fun activities. The Ontario Provincial Police marine unit will be on hand to talk about boating and water safety, and will be conducting a Child Identification clinic. There will also be prizes for all of the participants. All of the activities listed above will be free of charge. A canteen will be available with hot dogs, drinks, etc. at minimal cost ($1 per item).

“The Great Outdoor Adventure is an opportunity for families to get together and enjoy activities at low or no cost,” said Jan MacPherson of the Ontario Early Years Centre, “and it is also a change to provide some helpful information and publicity for our services.” Participants are encouraged to contact the Early Years Centre at 613-279-2244 to pre-register for the Great Outdoor Adventure, or they can simply show up at the parking lot of Sharbot Lake High School on June 4 between 11 and 1 pm to enjoy free family activities.
