Canadian Blood Services is holding a community blood drive at the Fire Hall in Sharbot Lake on October 4, from 2pm – 6pm. Interested residents will need to book an appointment either by calling 1-888 2DONATE (236-6283) or online @blood.ca or on the GiveBlood app. For more information about eligibility criteria to give blood, and the level of need across the country, go to Blood.ca. the website includes information about the national blood inventory.
While some blood types, such as AB+ and AB-, are in reasonably good supply, at 26 days and 16 days supply respectively, A- (4 days) and B- (4 days) are not.
