A small but diehard group of cyclists completed the first-ever exploratory cycling tour hosted by Myers Cave Resort. On Saturday, September 7th, the group departed from the resort after enjoying gourmet bagels and coffee at the Red Barn Zone. Stops along the 44k route included Smart's Marina, Greystones, the Visitor Centre at Bon Echo Park, and the Cloyne Pioneer Museum.
Rain and cool temperatures were experienced at the start however conditions improved as the day progressed. A support vehicle followed the group to selected checkpoints to offer hydration, protein bars, and fruit. Only one mechanical failure slowed the cyclists over the sideroads, less than 1 km from the end. The support vehicle saved the day.
A beach party at Myers Cave Resort followed, with camaraderie and the meeting of new friends. All enjoyed a great day!
