60 years ago, in 1964, a Parliamentary Committee was established to select what became, in 1965, our Canadian flag.
This year, 60 years later, let us re-create the story. Let us, together, form our Maple Leaf.
For fun, for patriotism, for community engagement, or for just doing it, let's dress up, as many of us as we can, in red.
Let's draw a huge maple leaf on the ground and stand inside it.
Let's have a drone flying above us take to a few pictures of our huge Land O’Lakes Maple Leaf.
This Roar will only ask you for that one thing:
Meet us on the 1st of July, Canada Day, and the first day of the Lions Year, at the parking lot of our hall.
Dress up in something red.
Let's join our hearts inside the Maple Leaf.
Every person counts! The more people we are, the bigger will the Land O’Lakes Human Maple Leaf be. Come alone or come with your family and friends.
Let us know if you are joining. Send us an email or a message.
And when all is said and done, let's all share some, free-for-all, delicious strawberry shortcake prepared by the amazing bakers of our club and some red (alcohol-free) punch too.
Till we meet again in a Roar, look for a red t-shirt or a cap, maybe both, tell your friends and family to do the same, let us know as well, and join us on the 1st of July at 10:00 to fill the 11-point Maple Leaf with our love.
