Coffee! And more than the normal dose please!

Every morning I wake up to a fun joke, or invite on Facebook to coffee by one of my friends. Laura, if you are reading this, thank you for those! Today is no exception, or is it?

Our dear club celebrated friendships two weeks ago by having a morning coffee. I was sad to miss it, as I heard of how much fun it was. And is it not always so? Do we not always have fun as we sit with our dear friends and enjoy that cherished cup of coffee and with that some friendly banter and lots of laughs? With that said, I am definitely not missing out on our upcoming morning coffee, and for our neighboring clubs, try this: just a morning chat at the club with coffee in your hands and cheer will fill your day and week.

I am certain, of one person who must be holding, possibly earlier than usual, a cup of coffee as he is starting to plan the activities, donations and events for the next year of Lions that starts on the 1st of July, 2024. Red Emond will be, with many cups of coffee I am sure, steering us into what will be another remarkable year in the life of our club.

However, and while we still have 3 more months of this year, I know of another person, who has been waking up with that cup of coffee too and designing our last quarter of this year. Lynn Oborne is promising us a final quarter of utmost fun and innovation. The return of the classic Spring Extravaganza and the mind-challenging Speaker’s Forum, the meet and greet Farmer’s Market, the treasures-finding Yard Sale, the side-road-waving Toll Road, and the vibes of Music and Friends are staples naturally. And to those, on and around Earth Day gardening and cleanup adventures, a pancake breakfast and the celebration of our 55th Charter Anniversary will be added into the mix. Did you think we forgot about the Dog Guide Walk, of course not! That too is coming back in full force! Bingo, Euchre and Dart nights still continue. And while we are at it, did you know we are also participating in the District Lions Convention; and we will be Tuvalu.

Till we meet again in a Roar, enjoy morning coffees with friends or Facebook friends, research Tuvalu, or wait for me to tell you more about it, enjoy walks and watch the rising numbers of birds that are coming back to this beautiful part of the world; find Easter eggs with your loved little ones, and don’t forget to join us in our many upcoming activities, we await you, as usual, with a smile.
