Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a house on fire on Marble Lake Road in North Frontenac Township on January 20.
The Kaladar Barrie Fire Department attended to extinguish the fire and no injuries were reported. The residence received extensive damage as a result of the fire. The Joint investigation by both the OPP and the Office of the Fire Marshall has determined that the fire was deliberately set.
Police have charged Douglas Bowley, age 58, of Addington Highlands Township contrary to the Criminal Code with: Arson; Threat to Cause Bodily Harm; and - Threat to Cause Damage to Property
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 21.
