On June 6, 2020 at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were responded to a report of a possible impaired driver travelling on an all-terrain vehicle on Highway 41 southbound. A Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) officer pulled the vehicle over and police attended to investigate.
As a result of the investigation, L&A County OPP have charged Robert P DEJONG, age 55, of Consecon, with:
Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs; and
Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit, both contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on July 7, 2020. The accused's driver licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
