Feature Article - May 22, 2008 Neither Snow Nor RainBy Sally AngleLast Saturday a small group of enthusiasts gathered to tackle the task of laying railway track beside the original bed as a first step in rehabilitating the old Sharbot Lake Railway Station site opposite the Township office. Under the guidance of Gary Cooke ties were spread out and lengths of track were laid beside the track bed. Plates and spikes were put into place and then the rain came! So after 4 hours of lifting and pounding it was decided to finish for the day and continue later. The Railway Museum committee would like to thank the volunteers and visitors for their hard work, expertise, cookies, sandwiches or just plain interest. Watch for the next work day and join us.
