LAND O' LAKES NewsWeb HomeNew Ownership for Grandma's Country Kitchenby Jeff Green Sunsets is the name of the new restaurant that will be opening in early May on the site of Grandmas Country Kitchen by the public beach in Sharbot Lake.
The property has been up for sale since former owner Gisele Beaupre closed for the season early last fall. Recently, it was purchased by Steve Duggan and Andrea Dickinson of Newmarket.
Duggan has a background in commercial real estate and Dickinson has long been involved in the restaurant business. The two of them decided to make a break with their urban lives and buy the restaurant.

Duggan was in Sharbot Lake early this week making preliminary plans
for the property. He told The News that the menu of the restaurant
will be varied. We will serve the normal family restaurant fare,
but we will also have a variety of fine cuisine specials. The
important thing is that we intend to serve specials that are made with
care.
Duggan also said he saw little need to make physical changes to the property, which was extensively renovated by Gisele Beaupre before Grandmas Country Kitchen was opened. The gift shop, Ice Cream Parlour, and miniature golf course on the property will be reopened when the restaurant opens. Duggan also said he was thinking about trying to set up a Kayak rental enterprise as well, to take advantage of the proximity to the lake.
As to what led Steve Duggan and Andrea Dickinson to look to Sharbot Lake for their enterprise, Duggan said we wanted a location which was near roads that were good for motorcycle touring, which we enjoy, and it was time for a change In looking for locations, I looked all over but didnt find another property that suited our needs.
The couple have four children who will join their parents after school ends in June.
