LAND O' LAKES NewsWeb HomeLO'LCS opens office in DenbighIt was ribbon cutting day on Monday for Land O Lakes Community Services(LOLCS). The agency has been offering a range of services out of its Northbrook office for years, and will now have a two day a week satellite office open in Denbigh to serve residents in the north end of their catchment area.
Charlene Behnke will co-ordinate services for LOLCS in the Denbigh area. She expects the Office, which is located on Hwy. 28 in the old post office, will be open on Mondays and Thursdays between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm. Her duties include running the Diners Club, recruiting drivers for the volunteer driver program. This program provides rides to doctors appointments, grocery shopping and other needs. Seniors will pay LOLCS directly for the service at a rate of 20 cents per kilometre.
The popular Meals on Wheels program is also available, serving the surrounding area to Griffith and Hardwood Lake. Charlene Behnke has been a volunteer with LOLCS for seven years, and is well known throughout the area. She can be reached at 613-336-1692 in Denbigh and is committed to helping in any way she can.
