Local Runners in Kingston RaceSeveral runners from the Land O'Lakes were among the 276 entrants in the Kingston Twosome Run on Sunday, February 13, 2000. Two couples from the Flinton/Denbigh area, Ken & Cathy Hook, and Sarah Hook & Ben Fuller, participated. Other couples in the race were Barry & Debbie Campbell from Verona and Lori Wagner of Cloyne, who was partnered with Barry Flanigan of Roslin. Shelley Mulrooney of Parham, a teacher at the Sharbot Lake Public School, and Kelly Pilgrim from Maberly, a teacher at Sharbot Lake High School, entered as individuals and ran together. Prizes were awarded to couples based on the total of their individual times. There were awards to the overall couples winners and to winners in their age categories. Lori Wagner (44) and Barry Flanigan (61) were 4th in the combined 100+ age category; Sarah Hook and Ben Fuller were 5th in the under 40 group; Ken and Cathy Hook 10th in the 90-99 age group; and Barry and Debbie Campbell 13th in the 80-89 combined age category. A couple from Watertown, New York, Jim Seedfeldt & Abigail Eldridge placed first overall in a combined time of 35:01.1. Their time was 1:01 faster than the second twosome of Susan Crowsell of Ottawa and Mark Ryan of Kingston. Finishing third overall were Stirling's Laura Duewel and Mike Myers of Belleville.
