Dombrowsky explains

Contacted on Monday afternoon from her office in Toronto, Leona Dombrowsky, MPP for HFL&A and Minister of the Environment in the provincial government, said her time is clearly being stretched by her cabinet position. I worked late into Thursday night in Toronto, and then had seven appointments scheduled for my constituency office on Friday. One of them had called on November 27, she said. In order to attend at Cloyne at 10 am, I would not have been back to my office until at least one oclock.

Dombrowsky said she was apprised that MPAC and Municipal Affairs officials would be in attendance so she felt better about missing the meeting. She also said some of her office staff are off on Fridays and one of her staff is on sick leave, so no one was available from her office to go to the meeting.

People think that I have more staff because I am a cabinet minister, but my own administrative budget has not been increased. I try to attend as many meetings in my ridings as possible, but that was not possible on Friday.
