North Frontenac winter lights Contest winners

Once again the long winter roads of North Frontenac Township have been brightened by spectacular displays of winter lights. Not all homeowners who have beautiful lights up entered our contest, but quite a few did, and the North Frontenac Recreation Committee is proud to announce the winner.

Winter_lights_WinnerDelores Laflamme of Plevna was the unanimous choice, and an evening visit to her Mountain Road home will show anyone why. The runner-up was Glena Dunham of Ompah, and this home too is well worth a visit. The following tour will take you past all the entries, and is sure to be an enjoyable experience for all ages.

Starting at highway 41 just north of Northbrook, take 506 to the Ardoch Road. Travel along this all the way to Clarendon, then turn left onto the 509. When you get to Mississippi, take a short jog up the Gully Road, where there is a fine display about a kilometer up. Continue on to Snow Road, and take the 509 to Ompah (be sure and notice Glena Dunham's home on the right just past Ompah). Continue on to Plevna, not forgetting to go up the Mountain Road about a kilometer when you get to it. The winning display will be found there. Plevna will be the end of this route, but don't forget to see the huge Christmas tree at the corner of the Buckshot Lake Road and the 509.

Thank you to all who entered the contest, or who nominated other entries, and to the businesses who contributed to our winning prize basket.
