Accessibility

We want everyone who visits the Frontenac News website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

What are we doing?

To help us make the Frontenac News website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the Frontenac News website.

How are we doing?

We believe the site follows all guidelines except for two. Please contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you notice any accessibility issues with our website, and we'll make an effort to fix them.

These are the two guidelines that our site does not pass:

3.2.1: On Focus

There is one instance on our site in which keyboard focus will be shifted: there is a search button placeholder in the top menu that shifts focus to the search input field. This focus shift is meant to make the site more seamless for users navigating with their keyboard, but if it causes any issues for you please let us know.

1.4.12: Text Spacing

We don't currently have any plans to address this issue, but if it is causing trouble for you please let us know.
