Changes Possible in Safe Drinking Water Act MacDonald

At this weeks Council meeting, Central Frontenac Mayor Bill MacDonald said he has had informal conversations with Leona Dombrowsky, who is both Minister of the Environment and the local MPP, and from those conversations he believes that regulation 170-03 of the Safe Drinking Water Act, as it applies to town halls and churches, may be altered to make it less onerous. I have nothing firm on this at this point, but my feeling there has been so many complaints about it that the MoE is thinking about making changes.

Council then endorsed a resolution by the Town of North Perth that requests that all small, non-residential facilities that supply washroom facilities only be exempted from all portions of the regulation.
