CRAWFORD, MARGARET JEAN  (nee Johnson) 1940 - 2012

Of Mazinaw Lake passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Loving & cherished wife of 50 years to George Crawford. Dear mother of Connie (Peter) Crawford of Wakefield, Quebec and Lisa (Ross) Crawford of Monte Lake, B.C. She will always be remembered in the hearts of her grandchildren Morgan & Victor. Sadly missed by her brother Ron (the late Ruby) Johnson of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, her sisters Joan (Carleton) Phillips of Lindsay, Joyce Williams of Peterborough, her twin sister Mary (the late Arthur) McCann of Bancroft, Karen Johnson (Jerome) of London and Kathy (Gerry) Ross of Alliston. Pre-deceased by her parents Harold & Barbara Johnson her sister Eleanor Morrison, and her brothers Ralph, Keith, Wesley and Jack. Survived by her sister in-law Ruby of Cobourg and Janet of Stirling. Passed away peacefully at Pine Meadow Nursing Home, Northbrook, ON. Formerly of Cloyne and Oshawa ON. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Colleen (nee Lytle) and children, David (Karen), Bruce (Fran), Debbie
(Fred West), Cindy (Laurie Harrison), Howie (Marianne) and Patti-Anne Thomas (Dave Dunning), 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and brother, Rae McLinton (Marilyn).  Predeceased by parents David Lemuel McLinton and Mary Anne McCoy (stepmother Margaret Pearl DuBroy), brothers Russell and Lorne McLinton. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Visitation was held at the Carleton Place Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 61 Lake Avenue West, Carleton Place on Wednesday, December 19th from 1 p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 3 p.m., followed by cremation. HIRSCHBECK, ERWIN JR.  (1967-2012)

With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Erwin Hirschbeck Jr at the age of 44 years. Erwin passed away suddenly at his home in Thornloe on Friday November 23, 2012. Born at Schrobenhausen, Germany December 8, 1967. Erwin and his family immigrated to Quebec in 1980, moving to Thornloe in 1988 and have resided there for the past 24 years where he worked passionately as a dairy farmer. Erwin loved the land and to be outdoors fishing, boating, or hunting. He had a knack for woodworking, planes, and keeping busy with many projects. He loved helping others, could talk for hours in German, French, or English, and his laughter would fill a room. Erwin was also community minded and served as councilor of the Hilliard Township Municipal Council. He is survived by his loving wife Sherry Gowdy. Erwin was a loving and caring father who would do anything for his children; Brayden, Madsion, and Danielle will greatly miss their daddy. Also left to morn his loss are parents Erwin Sr and Hedwig Hirschbeck. Fondly remembered by his siblings and nieces and nephews: Brother Axel Hirschbeck of Thornloe, brother Andreas (Josee Menard) children Cedryk, Vicky, Jasmine of Hawkesbury and sister Karola (Maxime Blondin) children Christopher and Samuel of Bellefeuille, Que. Erwin will be especially remembered by father in law Donald Gowdy and brother in law Rick Gowdy for the chats they shared that always seemed to revolve around farming, hunting and fishing. Uncle Reg and aunt Brenda Taylor will sadly miss their tour guide, fishing buddy and most generous host during their many visits to the Hirschbeck farm. He will be deeply missed by his friends, farmers, and neighbours as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who remain in Germany. As well as family and friends from the Harrowsmith area. He is predeceased by mother in law Pat Gowdy. Private family visitation was held at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home in Haileybury on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Erwin only knew Kimmy for a few short years but instantly became very fond of her. Kimmy always made a point of visiting the farm while she was home for her yearly visits. Therefore, in Kim’s memory and in honour of Erwin, donations made to the Almost Home Kimmy Fund, Box 2204, 118 William St. Kingston, On K7L 5J9 would be greatly appreciated by his family. Private internment will take place at a later date at the Harrowsmith cemetery. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Passed away suddenly while building his son's dream home in Denbigh on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the age of 55. Loving husband of Melody (nee Madigan). Cherished father of Tara Jones and Morgan (his fiancee Katie), both of Denbigh. Grandpa will always be remembered in the heart of his grand-daughter Cheyenne. Pre-deceased by his parents Stanley & Eleanor Jones. Special son in-law of Therese (the late Malcolm) Madigan of Denbigh. Webster, Warren Stinson

Died at his home in Red Deer Alberta at the age of 85 as a result of a fall. Warren is retired from CPR after 48 years of services as an engineer. Leaving behind his wife Betty, daughter Debbie (Bob) Gable, son Gilbert, step sons Ronald Lawrick and Jimmy Lawrick. Predeceased by brothers, Percy, Harmon and Dawson. Lovely remembered by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and the family will gather in the spring for burial at Christ Church Oso cemetery.

James “Jim” W. Swarner, Jr., 75, William-sport, IN passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, at his home following an illness with cancer. Peacefully surrounded by family, at Pine Meadow Nursing Home in Northbrook, Ontario on Thursday October 4, 2012. A WWII Veteran of Signal Core; Mechanic, and School Bus Driver until retirement at 65. Joseph Earl Davison, a lifelong resident of Flinton, Ontario at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Cora Davison (nee Cuddy) and father of Glenn (Cheryl) of Flinton, Charles Davison (Betty) of Madoc, and Margaret Schwager of Marlbank. A loving, encouraging and playful Grandfather and great Grandfather. Always remembered and always loved. Predeceased by his sister Ina Carkner and his brothers Robert Davidson and Douglas Davison. Fondly remembered by many extended family members and fiends for his kind and caring character. Throughout his life, Earl found fulfillment and peace in his active participation within his neighbourhood and in his unfailing commitment and service to the Flinton United Church. Layfield, Charles Garrett (Gus)

It is with great sadness that the family of Gus Layfield report his sudden passing at home in Verona on Friday October 5, 2012, one day short of his 77th birthday. He is the former husband of Sal of Burlington. Also survived by his son Jamie and daughter Kimberly and granddaughter Emily, all of the Toronto area; by one brother Jack; and by Ron’s wife Janet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Bill & Ethel (Bauder), also by brothers Bob (Kay), Bill (Grace), Ron, and sister-in-law Shirley. Cremation has taken place. Sparling, Ivan Douglas 

Passed away suddenly at the family farm in his 60th year. Husband of  Judy and father of Michael and Susanne. Predeceased this February by his son, Bruce. Grandfather of Jack and Clint. Brother to Bill and Marilyn, John and Wanda, Carol and Lanny, Susie and Rick and Bruce and Mona. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Ivan senior and Kay. Ivan died as he wished - at home on the farm. An avid reader, historian and master machinist who could design, fabricate and repair whatever he turned his mind to. A sports and politics enthusiast, he was always ready to knowledgeably debate any topic. Died peacefully at her home in Ottawa on August 24th, 2012. Born February 7th, 1929 at Marlbank, Ontario. Her parents were James Horrigan and Nellie (Garrett). She is predeceased by her husband James Fraser, her son, Joseph, sisters Margaret McGuire and Aileen Yanch and brother Timmy. Loretta is survived by her brothers Jimmy (Helen) and Joe (Theresa), several nieces and nephews and her loving children, Peggy Fraser (Ian Cross), Michael Fraser (Mary Jane), Patty Fraser (Clyde Fisher), Heather Fraser (Paul D'Andrea) and Kim Fraser (James Eyamie). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Cristina, Paolo, Amanda, Jesse, Brendan, Joshua, Euan, Marea, Leah and three great grandchildren, Sierra, Alexa and Aaron. She was a generous friend and a very loving and devoted Mother. Our Mother was a devout Roman Catholic and has left us with a legacy of strength, endurance and humour. She was loved dearly and is missed by all.

Jim passed away peacefully, in hospital, Perth, on Sunday, January 15th, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.

James Angus Clement, of McDonald’s Corners, at the age of 75 years. Jim was the beloved husband and best friend, for over 55 years to Shirley (nee` Quibell). (Jim and Shirley had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, on November 17, 2011.) Jim was predeceased by his parents, the late Lloyd and Erna Clement, (nee` Purdon). He was also predeceased by his son, Lawrence James Clement, in 2008, and by his sister, Grace and brother, William, both in infancy.

Cherished father to: Lloyd George Clement of Elphin, Todd (June) Clement, of Brightside, the twins; Peter Clement, also of Elphin, and Paul (Fern) Clement, of Smiths Falls, and Kim (Norman) Hall, also of Smiths Falls. Grandpa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Amanda, Bradley, Dylan, Jasmine, Bobby, Shawnee, Curtis, Jessica, and David, and by his great-grandchildren: Rolston, Cheyenne, Jonathan, Logan and Christina.

Jim was proud of his ability to take care of his family as a provider, putting his heart and soul into any task or challenge that lay ahead of him, while keeping the welfare of his family his main priority.

RUTLEDGE, Benjamin Wayne

Ben passed away November 26, 2011, at the age of 19. Ben was the dearly loved son of Dennis and Tracey (Snider) Rutledge and brother to Billy of Bancroft. He will be also deeply mourned by his grandparents Bill and Bev Snider of Denbigh and his many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many friends. Grandson of the late Les and Luella Rutledge of Bancroft. Ben greatly enjoyed four wheeling, spending time with his friends and was an avid partridge hunter. The funeral service was held at Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle where Pastor Wes Hill officiated, assisted by Pastor Raymond Klatt, interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bancroft. Pallbearers were Brody Gregg, Jesse Snider, Kristin Warlich, Mark Snider, Mike Lockwood and Morgan Jones.
