ASSELSTINE, Ruth Eleanor (née Pritchard)

Passed away on February 7, 2012 in her 80th year. Ruth was the daughter of the late Inez and Clarence Pritchard; sister of Carl (Jean) and Shirley Snider (late Gary); mother of Marlene Blanchette (Ray), Donald and James; grandmother of Mike, Chris, Colin, Scott and Joel. STITT, FRANCES MARY (Nee O’Shaughnessy, previously Caldwell)

Passed peacefully at home, on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Frances is survived by her loving husband Ellard and her family of Gayle Caldwell; Brian Caldwell (late Esther); Kathy Lauzon (Jean-Guy); Jaime Stitt (Sandy) and the late Vicki Caldwell. Fondly remembered by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, her many nieces, nephews and all who loved her dearly. POWLEY, REGINALD ACEL “MIKE”, W.W.II Veteran

of Vennachar, passed away suddenly at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in his 91st year. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Dixie of 63 years in 2009. Dear father of Toni (Jean Paul), Carolyn (Royce), Marlene, Jan (Maureen), Gwendolyn (Brett), Mike (Laura), Nancy and Janet (Clayton). He will always be remembered in the hearts of his several grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by his sister Rita Keller. Pre-deceased by his parents Overton & Orphilia, his daughter Sylvia, sister Mabel and brothers Fred, Victor, George, Roy and Ken. Survived by his sister-in-law Alice. Fondy remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. CLEMENT, James Angus

Jim passed away peacefully, in hospital, Perth, on Sunday, January 15th, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.

James Angus Clement, of McDonald’s Corners, at the age of 75 years. Jim was the beloved husband and best friend, for over 55 years to Shirley (nee` Quibell). (Jim and Shirley had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, on November 17, 2011.) Jim was predeceased by his parents, the late Lloyd and Erna Clement, (nee` Purdon). He was also predeceased by his son, Lawrence James Clement, in 2008, and by his sister, Grace and brother, William, both in infancy.

Cherished father to: Lloyd George Clement of Elphin, Todd (June) Clement, of Brightside, the twins; Peter Clement, also of Elphin, and Paul (Fern) Clement, of Smiths Falls, and Kim (Norman) Hall, also of Smiths Falls. Grandpa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Amanda, Bradley, Dylan, Jasmine, Bobby, Shawnee, Curtis, Jessica, and David, and by his great-grandchildren: Rolston, Cheyenne, Jonathan, Logan and Christina.

Dad will be fondly remembered by Michelle (late Lawrence) Clement, of Lindsay. Jim will be also sadly missed by his sister, Evelyn (Lonnie) Wilson, of McDonald’s Corners.

A hard-working man of fine character, Jim will be fondly remembered for his dedication to: the Canadian Pacific Railway, as a telecommunications operator, and for his years of loyal service to Mort Fox, Steve Lenz, and the Perth Yarn Mill. Jim was proud of his ability to take care of his family as a provider, putting his heart and soul into any task or challenge that lay ahead of him, while keeping the welfare of his family his main priority.

Friends may call the O’Dacre Family Funeral Home, 15 Victoria Street, Perth, on Thursday, January 19th, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in the Parlours of the funeral home on Friday, January 20th, at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Sam Draffin, officiating.

For those wishing, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated.

YOUNG, NORENE

Surrounded by her family, with dignity and grace on January 7th, 2012. Norene lost her courageous battle with cancer. She was in her 75th year. Norene Price, wife of Elgin Young for 49 years. Dear mother of Rodney (Colleen), Bob (Lori) and Aileen (Mike). Grandmother to Brandon (Nicole), Michael, Tanner, Kelsey and Justin. She embraced the role of mom to many. Daughter of the late Charles and Iva (Uens)Price. Dauther in law to the late John and Iola Young. Loving sister to Ronald (Elva), the late Dale (late Velma), the late Grant (Cleo), Irene, Adabelle (Ellwood), Jack (Frona), Darrell (Doreen), Ivan (Lenore)and Gerald (Norma). Sister in law to Charles and Amy Young. Loving aunt to 25 nieces and nephews. In keeping with Norene’s wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside ceremony will be held in the spring. The family has been humbled by the support they have received and wish to thank the following: Family and friends, Dr. Dempsey, Dr. Tomiack, Dr. Chrystal Baker, Dr. Herle, KGH Chemo therapy department and the nursing and support staff of Kidd 9. DESHANE, HILDA GLADYS (nee OLIVER)

Passed away    peacefully in her 86th year on Saturday, January 7, 2012    at the L&A County General Hospital. Loving wife of Joseph Deshane. Dear mother of Phyllis (Ron) Nuttley of     Cherry Valley, Evelyn (Jim) Smith of Foxborough, Carol(Terry) Neal of Belleville and Joseph (Mary) Deshane of Trenton. She will always be remembered in the hearts of her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her sister Mabel (the late Hubert) Deshane of Northbrook. Pre-deceased by her brothers Roy, Jim, Millard, Sherman, Walter and her sisters Maggie Delyea, Lillie Thompson and Florence Kellar. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends. At her home in Plevna, with her husband and best friend of fifty five years by her side, on Monday December 26, 2011.  Glenna (Tooley) in her 75th year.  Daughter of the late Amelia (Lemke) and John Tooley.  Wife of William (Bill) Gorr.  Mother of Joel (Suzanna McGregor), Carleton Place; Gina (Richard) Kellar, Plevna and Marc (Audrey), Plevna. Sister of Jean (Fred) Salter, Battersea; Willa (Late Cecil) Kelford, Kingston; Audrey (William) Richards, Raleigh NC and the late Florence (Late Bill)  Kellar, Sam (Late Peggy) Tooley, Snowden (Rose) Tooley and Baden (Lenora) Tooley.  Grandmother of Sarina (John) Goodsell, Alex and Lucy Kellar.  The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Anglican Church Plevna from 2-4 & 7-9 Thursday where funeral service will be held on Friday December 30, 2011 at 11:00 am.  Interment: Plevna Cemetery.  Donations: North Frontenac Fire Department. McMurdock, "Rob" Robert

Passed away peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer on January 6, 2012 at Belleville General Hospital in his 57th year. Loving father of Ryan & his partner Jessica of Belleville. Sadly missed by his dearest sister Norma (Ken) of Belleville and brother Wayne (Sheila) of Kingston. Predeceased by sister Netta and brother Laverne. Remembered by Ryan's mother Christine and his many nieces and nephews. RUTLEDGE, Benjamin Wayne

Ben passed away November 26, 2011, at the age of 19. Ben was the dearly loved son of Dennis and Tracey (Snider) Rutledge and brother to Billy of Bancroft. He will be also deeply mourned by his grandparents Bill and Bev Snider of Denbigh and his many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many friends. Grandson of the late Les and Luella Rutledge of Bancroft. Ben greatly enjoyed four wheeling, spending time with his friends and was an avid partridge hunter. The funeral service was held at Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle where Pastor Wes Hill officiated, assisted by Pastor Raymond Klatt, interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bancroft. Pallbearers were Brody Gregg, Jesse Snider, Kristin Warlich, Mark Snider, Mike Lockwood and Morgan Jones.
