Loving father of Heather Fox (Doug), Ron Campbell (Cathie) Proud Poppy of Darrin Fox (Charlene) and Sasha Campbell. Predeceased by grandson Cheston (2007). Great grand poppy of Emma, Savannah and Raven. Born in Toronto on January 9th, 1932, Bill was the dear husband by second marriage of the late Lorna Bergman (2001), and formerly husband to Eloise Coker, of Ottawa. Dad will be sadly missed by his children; Steven (Suzanne), Andrew (Debbie), and Susan (Richard) Gray, all of Ottawa. Treasured grandfather to Pamela (Callum) O'Connor,
Angela, Steven (Caroline), Michael and Sarah, and wonderful great-grandfather to
Clark, Gemma, Nola, and Vincent. In keeping with Mr. Macdonald's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Margaret Maxine Kellar Purdon, daughter of the late Elwood and Frances Kellar, dearly loved wife of John Purdon. Loving mother of Tammy Purdon-Harris (Grant) and Shawn (Kim). Grandmother of Carolyn, Emily, Makenzie and Madison. Survived by sisters and brothers Winnifred Flieler (the late Ferd), Cecil (Jean), Delbert (Phyllis), Maxwell (Audrey) and Shirley Burke (Percy), also sisters-in-law Bernice and Diane Purdon (Bill). After coping with MS for over 25 years, he was also diagnosed with ALS in July. He passed away peacefully and quietly at Loyalist Retirement Home in Odessa under the tender and loving care of Debby McCurdy and Wayne Babcock. He leaves his children Darrel & Dayna Virag, his sister Marlene (Bright) Allison and brothers John and Tony. Richard spent many happy years at his trailer in Brown’s Park, Mazinaw Lake. Richard was cremated and a memorial service was held August 21, 2010 in Coburg. schools all through Lanark County, Board Member and volunteer of the
Lanark Village Museum and member of St. Andrew's choir. In hospital, in

predeceased by her father Herbert in 1992 and in June 2010 by her
mother Alice (Hughes) Chatson of Denbigh. Beloved wife of the late Pat
'M.J.' Umpherson who predeceased Lenora in June of 2003. Dearly
loved mother of Michael and his wife Jayne Umpherson and cherished and
special grandmother of Grace, Matthew and William Umpherson. Dear

On July 17th 2010, two years to the day of his diagnosis, Rod passed peacefully into the stars. Rod will forever be remembered and treasured by his eternally devoted wife, Donna Mae (Knapp), sons Rodney and Jeff (Shawna) Easton of Kingston, step-sons Bobby and Rick Nevin (Larissa), step-daughter Jessie Nevin (Craig), granddaughter Lacey Nevin. June 10ALEXANDER, Samuel (April 5, 1924- June 4, 2010) Samuel James Franklin Alexander passed away peacefully at age 86 at Pine Meadow Nursing Home, Northbrook. Sam was born and raised in Arden, Ontario along with his brother Ken and sister Dorothy. He graduated from Queen’s University in Engineering in 1945. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for a short time post WWII. He then began a career with Shell Oil for many years where he met his future wife Joan Yule, and were married in 1951. They moved to Peterborough where he started his own business, Alexander Fuels. He remained in the oil and fuel business throughout his life along with other business ventures as well. Sam and Joan raised four children, Arden, Robert, Peg and Tom. His beloved Joan passed away on September 23rd 1995 in Peterborough. A short time later he met his loving companion Delia Puttkamer in Vancouver, BC. Sam and Delia spent their summers on Big Gull Lake and winters in Vancouver until he returned to Peterborough in 2008. Sadly Sam was stricken with Alzheimer’s disease, however this gave his four children the opportunity to care for him and be by his side in his remaining years. He was always loved by his son’s and daughter’s in law Duncan Scott, Laurie Alexander, Debbie Alexander, Dave Goodes, and Paul Meade. He will be missed by his special grandchildren; Madeline, Meghan, Jeffrey, Alexandria, Katie, Samantha, Stephanie, James, Samuel, Sarah and Joel. All his extended family, wonderful friends, and Big Gull Lake Family will miss his love of life and laughter. The youngest of a large family growing up in the Ottawa Valley near Arnprior, Dawn was predeceased by her parents Charles and Jean Cunningham and her siblings Elizabeth, Jean, Ella, Archibald, Cochrane, Samuel and Lloyd. Also predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Frank Russell “Bud” Ohlke. Loving mother to Paul (Dawn) Ohlke, Mississauga and Suzanne McDermid, Gananoque. Loving grandmother to Paige, Patrick, Andrew, Deidre, Ryan, Lucas and Emma. Dawn will be missed by her sister in law and brother in law, Paula (Ohlke) and Chuck Collyer and by her many nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada and the United States. Dawn graduated second in her class from the KGH School of Nursing, Class of ’49. Declining KGH’s kind offer of graduate school in Toronto, Dawn chose instead to remain in Kingston, accept a position as Assistant Charge Nurse of Paediatrics, marry our father and start a family. Dawn and Bud met while she was a nursing student and he was at Queen’s - Bud had sustained an injury playing varsity football and was one of her patients. Throughout her nursing career Dawn held a variety of supervisory roles at Kingston General Hospital where she nursed with distinction until her retirement. In the later years of her career Dawn assisted the late Dr. John Carmichael with his Gynaecology-Oncology clinical trials / research and was part of a team that had numerous papers published in this field. Neighbours in the isolated mining community of Schefferville, QC were given instruction in the living room on child-bearing. Older persons in Barefoot Bay, FL who had called for emergency help were attended. Children with learning problems were helped with her one-on-one instruction. Until recently she was a model of physical health with a youthful demeanor and agility that belied her years. Marj was passionate about everything she did, but especially about choral singing, swimming, and dancing. Marjorie had an unshakeable faith. She loved people. Her simple unassuming graciousness was a welcome presence. A memorial service is planned at Sharbot Lake, ON this July (enquiries: P.O. Box 381, Sharbot Lake, ON, K0H 2P0). O’Connor, Barry Barry O’Connor, who served as principal of Sharbot Lake High School in the 1980s and eventually climbed the administrative ladder to become Director of the Limestone District School Board, has died of cancer at the age of 60. O’Connor was only 37 when he got his first posting as a high school principal in Sharbot Lake. Former staff from the school recalled his impact on the school when they learned of O’Connor’s death. “He was certainly one of the finest human beings I’ve ever known. We were working at 110% of our capacity when he was at Sharbot Lake,” said Gary Giller, who taught at SLHS throughout Barry O’Connor’s tenure at the school. “He just had a way with people, he had a way of getting the most out of people. Great things were always happening while he was principal.” Giller said that O’Connor served as Director of the Limestone Board during some turbulent times under the Mike Harris government but “he remained positive through all that.” After his retirement from the school board in 2004, O’Connor remained active as a basketball coach.
