Scouts registration

Registration for Scouts Canada youth programs is coming up in our communities.

All Scouts Canada programs are co-ed.

BEAVERS - Designed to meet the needs and interests of children 5, 6 and 7 years old. The theme of the program is based upon beavers and the beaver colony. It focuses on sharing, co-operation and playing in small groups, in harmony with nature.

CUBS - The Wolf Cub program will interest youth 8, 9 and 10 years old. The program includes a mixture of games, crafts, music, stories, acting, outdoor and multicultural activities, star work, and badge work.

SCOUTS - A program for youth 11, 12, 13 and 14 years of age. Scout activities place emphasis on citizenship development while living and playing outdoors in harmony with nature and the environment. Hiking, camping, exploring, summer and winter sports, and community service comprise the principle activities of Scouts.

VENTURERS – The outdoors is an essential part of the Venturer program. Weekend events, extended hikes, no trace camping, and more opportunities round out the Venturer experience.  Developing and active, healthy lifestyle is the primary goal for young men and women ages 14 to 17.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

1ST PERTH ROAD GROUP – Registration for all programs will be Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 7 to 8 p.m. Beavers meet Mondays from 6:30 – 7:30; Cubs meet Tuesday from 6:30 to 8; Scouts meet Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8. Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts all meet at Perth Road Public School. Contact Karen at 613-353-6999.

1ST SYDENHAM GROUP - Fall Registration night is Tuesday, Sept. 7 from 7 - 8 p.m. at Loughborough Public School (L.P.S.). Beavers meet 6:45 - 7:45 Mondays; Cubs meet 7 - 8:30 Tuesdays; Scouts meet at 6:45 to 8:45 on Thursdays. All sections meet at L.P.S., For Further information contact Bob at 613-376-3087.

1ST VERONA - Fall Registration is Thurs. Sept. 9, at Trinity United Church Hall in Verona, from 7 - 8 p.m. Beaver and Cub meetings are on Monday nights 6:30 - 7:30 and 6:30 - 8 respectively at Trinity United Church hall. Scouts meet Tuesday from 7 to 9 at Prince Charles Public School. Contact Terry at 613-374-2703.
