Letters: June 30Re: Scott’s “Silly Mailings”, Edward Kennedy Re: Scott’s “Silly Mailings”Seems that one Lorne Jenkins (The Frontenac News, Letters, June 24, 2010) is grasping at straws in his vapid criticism of Scott Reid. While drifting out in left field, and speaking out of the left corner of his mouth, he caterwauls about the alleged cost of these mailings that are a responsible and democratic method Scott employs to keep in touch with the feelings of his electorate. Would that the liberals and dippers in political positions would do likewise, but of course they do not care what we lesser ones think. Further, I openly wonder why Mr. Jenkins, if he is worried about a few dollars well spent by Scott to keep informed re the opinions of those he represents, would not criticize a legitimate concern such as the billions wasted by liberals on the idiocy known as C-68. This recent criticism of our MP reminds me of the last exercise in nonsense by another whiner who, instead of applauding Scott's continuing donation of tens of thousands of dollars for defibrillators, complains that Scott is not benefiting his riding association but is locating them out of area. Could it be that Scott has been doing this so long that he has supplied every village in this riding with the same and now is actually supplying liberal ridings whose majestic MPs cannot see past their greed to do a simple act of beneficence? Come on, Lorne, stop squinting out of your left eye; if you open it, you will see the real picture! Edward Kennedy |
