Relay For Life all set for FlintonBy Jeff GreenWith one week to go, planning for the fist ever Relay for Life to be held in Addington Highlands is pretty much on schedule. “We now have 32 or 33 teams registered” said key organizer Carolyn Hasler, “and a bunch of fund raising events have already taken place.” Plans to feed and entertain over 400 participants are being finalized, and the sale of “Luminarias”, candles in memory of loved ones that will light up the track on the grounds of the Flinton Recreation Centre, are ongoing. A special mini-relay, which will be held for residents at the Pine Meadow Nursing Home this week (Friday June 4) on a track at the home, has raised over $700 so far.
Tied for 1st place are Dwayne Scott, Bert Thompson, Gord Scott and Darryl Scott (not shown).
