NAEC to Perform Disney's "Mulan"

By Victoria Peeling

The second week of June is soon approaching, along with the annual play the senior theatre class of North Addington Education Centre puts on for the community every year. This year, the play that has been chosen is "Mulan," the class has been working hard since February to create this wonderful play, including practicing, and set designing. It's been a lot of work for the class, but they're doing everything they can to make this year's play a success just like past ones.

"It's a classic, heroic tale of a girl who goes to war disguised as a soldier. I'm really looking forward to opening night, it's going to be very exciting as well as entertaining," stated Katelyn Buls, who plays the lead as Mulan. "It's great to get the lead this year."

The theatre class has had help with costumes from the fashion class, and the dance class has also been contributing, as many costumes are needed and there are a few dance numbers in the play as well. Everyone is very excited about this upcoming event; it’s one of the biggest events at the school every year, with a large community turnout, and the shows are always a success.

"I'm really looking forward to a production that will appeal to all ages," said Mrs. Angela Salmond, Principal of North Addington.

This year, opening night of the play will be on June 9th, with a second show on the 10th; the price of tickets is $7 for adults and only $5 for students. Tickets are available to the public at North Addington Education Centre all this week and part of next week, come in and get your tickets for this amazing production and family event before it's sold out! You will not want to miss it.
