Outdoor Adventure slated for June 5 – and it’s free!By Jeff Green
The Northern Rural Youth Partnership is presenting their second annual Outdoor Adventure extravaganza on the grounds of the Sharbot Lake High School next Saturday, June 5. The event runs from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm and it includes a long list of activities for kids of all ages. This year, in addition to live batting practice, face painting and a 9 hole mini-golf course, children will be invited to participate in an game based on the popular “Minute to Win it” TV show. The OPP will be on hand with one of their drug dogs to present a demonstration of what the dog can do, and the OPP marine unit will be on hand as well. Kim Bates will be bringing along a portable petting zoo and there will be horse and wagon rides available as well, and the Central Frontenac Fire department will be bringing a truck or two for the children to explore. Sharbot Lake Karate will have a number of students at the Outdoor Adventure to present a demonstration of skills at 11:30. Tickets for a BBQ. will be available from 11:00 until 1:00. Did we mention that all of the events and treats at the Outdoor Adventure are free?
