Challenge yourself: volunteer As a student at
I have spent my past few summers volunteering at a children’s camp and through this work I have seen the many lives that volunteering can touch. I honestly believe volunteering is far more important than material things. It builds character, self-esteem, and is a terrific learning experience, not to mention a blast! To see the look in a child's eyes when you have helped coach them to a victory, or the joy received when you take them horse back riding for the first time is remarkable! Volunteers are a vital part of all communities. I would like to encourage everyone to volunteer. It's not only an important learning experience, but also a special way to lend a helping hand and more importantly ... your heart!!! Looking for volunteer opportunities for yourself? Come out to the Volunteer Fair during the Frontenac Heritage Festival at St. James Catholic Church on Saturday February 24, from 10am to 3pm. For more info contact Northern Connections 613-279-2499
